Battle of the Barley – October 10-13, 2013

Stop in, pick your side, and stand your ground!

What’s better than the Rackhouse Pub having 30 taps during GABF? Having 60 taps during GABF! We’re curating some of the best beers you can get from Colorado & California and are pitting them against each other from Thursday October 10 through Sunday October 13, 2013.

*** Brewery & beer list (subject to change) is at the bottom of the page. ***

When two states duke it out for beer bragging rights, there can only be one winner: you. But in the spirit of meaningless online voting, we’re going to allow you to vote for your favorite state. The state that wins will receive the following:

  • A congratulatory tweet from @rackhousepub – really big stuff, right?
  • A poorly-designed certificate of victory, printed out on our state-of-the-art black-and-white laser printer, and will be mailed to the Governor of the winning state. We’re pretty sure it will get instantly recycled and won’t be read.
  • If California wins, the town of Ouray will hereby be recognized as a California city, complete with new area & zip code. If Colorado wins, Modesto will become a Colorado town. We’re still working with the state legislatures to facilitate this part of the agreement. Due to the bureaucracy, we’re assuming this will actually result in a suspension of Medicare through some sort of obscure loophole. We’re sorry in advance for all the news stories generated by our little contest.
  • The winning state will also be legally obligated to change their state motto to “In your face, California [or Colorado]!”

CO, blue on the graph should have been on the left, CA, red on the graph should be on the right. The Colorado flag should be flopped to read the same way that California does.

    • Rackhouse Pub

thanks for your design advice. come in to tell us in person, and have a couple beers while you’re at it.
