May 13-19, 2013 has been deemed American Craft Beer Week. While the Rackhouse Pub celebrates craft beer every week, we’ve lined up six amazing events six straight days next week. Without further ado, here’s what’s on tap to satisfy your craving for malted barley, hops, and yeast.
Tuesday May 14, 2013 – Avery Demons of Ale Tapping
To kick off American Craft Beer Week 2013, we’ve conducted a Séance – in the presence of beer, of course – and communicated with the three “Demons of Ale”.
Thankfully for everyone involved, they’ve agreed to meet us at the Rackhouse on Tuesday, May 14 at 5pm.
So we’re pleased to announce we will be tapping all 3 of Avery Brewing Comany’s Demons of Ale Series:
• Samael’s Oak-Aged Ale
• The Beast Grand Cru Ale
• Mephistopheles Stout
• Plus a VERY LIMITED amount of Tweak (foremerly called Meph Addict)
Wednesday May 15, 2013 – I’d Tap That – Yak & Yeti Brewpub Edition
Our American Craft Beer Week Tapping Extravaganza continues with a special I’d Tap That with Yak & Yeti Brewpub.
• GF Apple Ale (gluten-free)

Thursday May 16, 2013 – Avery 20th Anniversary IPA Tapping Party
American Craft Beer Week 2013 rolls on with a simultaneous tapping to celebrate Avery Brewing Company’s 20th Anniversary.
The Rackhouse is one of a few bars getting Avery’s 20th Anniversary XX IPA on tap. At 5pm we’ll be tapping our keg of it – along with the party at the brewery in Boulder, as well as a few other lucky accounts.
We love Avery, and hope we can celebrate with them for 20 more anniversaries!
Friday May 17, 2013 – Oskar Blues American Craft Beer Week Tapping
We’re welcoming our friends from Oskar Blues Brewery on Friday May 17, 2013 and are excited about a special beer tapping in honor of American Craft Beer Week 2013.
Come in at 5pm, when we tap the following treats from Oskar Blues:
• IceyPA – Wheat IPA brewed in partnership with Colorado ski manufacturer Icelantic Skis
• Chardonnay Barrel-Aged Mama’s Yella Pils
• Santo Poco Mexican Lager
Saturday May 18, 2013 – New Belgium Lips of Faith Tapping
It may be the 2nd to last day of American Craft Beer Week 2013, but the Rackhouse is still going strong with our specialty beer sampling in honor of our nation’s craft brewing industry.
Stop into the Rackhouse at 5pm on Saturday, May 18, and try some of the Lips of Faith series from New Belgium Brewery. We’ll be pouring the following:
• Pluot (a Belgian ale brewed with Pluots – a plum/apricot hybrid fruit)
• Paardebloem (Belgian ale bittered with dandelion greens, a collaboration with Red Rock Brewing)
• Cascara Quad (bottles)
Sunday May 19, 2013 – Volunteer For Beer
Our last American Craft Beer Week event is chock full of community service. And beer.
On Sunday May 19th, 2013, the Rackhouse Pub is organizing our annual sidewalk cleanup on West Alameda between the Rackhouse and the Alameda Light Rail Station. Be one of the first 20 to sign up in person at the Rackhouse and help us beautify an overlooked section of sidewalk. When we’re done, we’ll all hop on the light rail (at our cost) and head to Great Divide Brewing Company for a VIP tour and free beers.
